Colombian steakhouses in Chicago are a dime a dozen. Though many brag about offering a taste of home, few deliver as well as Las Tablas, a Colombian steakhouse nestled on the corner of Irving Park Road and Laporte Avenue in the city’s Portage Park neighborhood.
Family owned and operated, Las Tablas opened in 1999 under Chef Jorge Suárez and Soraya Campos. The first location on Lincoln Avenue was so successful that they had to expand, according to the company history. Since then, the restaurateurs continue to cook and create dishes that would make any Colombiano proud.
